What is a Canopy?

The chandelier canopy does not go through the hole of the medallion. It sits up to the face of the medallion. This collection is sorted by the center flat area of the medallion around the hole. Your chandelier's canopy can cover this center flat area or you can allow it to cover part of the decorative pattern, thus the canopy can be larger than what is listed

The hole is 3-3/4" (9.5cm) or specified at a custom price. Use it in dropped ceilings or apply directly to the ceiling. Consider placing in a diamond shape or square to the ceiling. IPMRD8021 is a hybrid dome / medallion with a 48" diameter and a projection of 4-1/4" fitting a chandelier canopy up to 18". Specify a hole size beyond 3-3/4". Create the illusion of a recessed ceiling dome with this surface mounted dome. It is suitable for any exquisite decor with classical chandeliers or for an eclectic style utilizing modern fixtures.
